    The Kauri Museum

    Explore the story of the Kauri at the Kauri Museum. Learn how pioneers, who settled in the area, used the Kauri timber and its gum. The timber provided sturdy building material while the gum was used for varnish, linoleum and even jewels. The museum, enclosed by towering kauri trees, has displays of the many uses. Open daily.
